I am Volkan Tok. The Refined Polish began as a personal expression of a lifestyle, a space dedicated to the art of the gentleman, the timelessness of classic menswear, and the nonchalant elegance of Italian Spezzato and Sprezzatura.
I am an artisan at heart. Born and raised in Amsterdam (1994), I have spent years honing my craft through the meticulous work of shoe shining and the restoration of luxury bags and suitcases. This hands-on journey taught me that true luxury isn't found in a logo; it is found in the integrity of the materials and the precision of the hand that works them.
Chapter One: The Fragrance
This is the opening chapter of a larger story. I created this fragrance because I could no longer ignore what I was putting on my skin. I abandoned mainstream brands after realizing the industry uses the word "Parfum" as a legal loophole to hide hormone disruptors.
While some claim these chemicals are "safe" in small amounts, I am concerned about the cumulative effect of everything we use throughout the day, from our shower gel to our aftershave. I began by replacing my own fragrance with a blend I personally loved and trusted. Now, I am sharing that blend with you.
My Principles
- Integrity I reject "black box" ingredients. Every bottle I produce comes with full MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) files. Your health is not a trade secret.
- Precision I personally blend and package every bottle to meet my own high standards for quality control. These are limited, numbered releases, not mass-produced commodities.
- Provenance Everything, from the glass and packaging to the oils themselves are sourced and made in the Netherlands.
